Tropical Indie Septet The Hip Abduction Release New Album 'Gold Under The Glow' today (March 11, 2016)

"Gold Under the Glow, is set to introduce The Hip Abduction to the mainstream, where they've probably belonged all along. "Before We Lose Our Mind" has all the makings of a commercial radio smash, with infectious synth melodies and a singalong chorus that recalls an equatorial version of Iceland's Of Monsters and Men."  - Consequence of Sound

"Whatever it is they're doing, it's working, because this is one great listen." - Live for Live Music

"The delicately picked guitars resonate with tropical spirit, the punchy synths pulsate with energy, and the lush production ties the entire sunlit package together."  - The Wild Honey Pie

The Hip Abduction are set to release their newest album Gold Under the Glow today, March 11, 2016.  The Hip Abduction place heavy emphasis on African stringed instruments (kora, ngoni) mixed with dub-reggae bass lines and funky afro-beat percussion. Gold Under the Glow captures the high-energy of The Hip Abduction's signature sound but with an added indie rock twist.

Gold Under the Glow was recorded in Nashville this past summer and produced by Dabney Morris (Wild Cub).  With Morris at the helm, The Hip Abduction re-imagined their energetic world/reggae vibe by infusing indie pop overtones.  Tampa Bay Times explains: "Whereas their self-titled debut landed at No. 5 on Billboard's reggae charts, this one would be classified rock or alternative, inspired more by acts like Bastille, St. Lucia, Cut Copy or Odesza - rhythmic indie rock with lots of synthesizers."

The Hip Abduction have been touring the East Coast in celebration of the release and the band will be making appearances at several festivals this summer, including Savannah Stopover, Shaky Knees Festival, and the Purple Hatter's Ball. Many more shows are expected to be announced for The Hip Abduction in 2016. For the most up to date information please visit
