Glide Premieres Exclusive First Listen of The Artisanals’ Self-Titled Debut LP Officially Out September 21 ON AWAL

“...[The Artisanals’] long-playing eponymous debut is stuffed with some of the most memorable rock ‘n’ roll you’ll hear all year.” - Blurt Magazine

Be among the first to hear The Artisanals’ self-titled full length record in its entirety today on Glide. The debut release from the Charleston, SC rock quintet is the first record to come out of the Magic Barn - an Iowa studio-converted-barn built around the Neve console and gear from New York City's now defunct Magic Shop Studio. This first listen of The Artisanals, which Glide calls a “kaleidoscope of singer-songwriter edgy rock that recalls the best of Jackson Browne, Dawes and Delta Spirit,” comes ahead of the official release this Friday, September 21, 2018 on AWAL. A national three-month US tour kicks off today.

In the studio, The Artisanals aren’t afraid to experiment. For the 10-track LP, the band utilized everything from a gong, organ, piano, sitar, french horn, trombone, and koto, to a string section sourced from the nearby University of Iowa. The result? A sound that feels reminiscent of the peak days of classic rock n’ roll, yet entirely fresh. “Sonically [recording at The Magic Barn] made our songs sound huge,” front man Johnny Delaware tells Glide. “We always knew we wanted our production for this album to have an arena feel to it, so the equipment at The Magic Barn transcended our expectations for that. That Neve board heavily influenced the mix of the album.”

Produced by The Artisanals and Wolfgang Zimmerman, and mastered by Howie Weinberg (Spoon, Ryan Adams, Nirvana), this record is stacked with anthemic, arena-sized bangers. Combined with the band’s incendiary live show, it is no surprise that despite a relatively recent debut, The Artisanals are already receiving looks from the likes of Rolling Stone, Billboard, Paste, No Depression, PopMatters, and more.

Armed with lava lamps, giant mushrooms, and a full sized neon sign, The Artisanals are hitting the road with an extensive US album release tour. The Shroom Tour kicks off tonight in Boca Raton, FL and travels through Florida, looping up to Kentucky for the closing of Louisville’s WFPK Waterfront Wednesday series, then sailing through North Carolina, before hitting their highly anticipated hometown show at the Charleston Pour House on September 29 with special guests The High Divers and DEGA -- tickets available HERE.

Physical copies of the new album will be available for purchase in CD and vinyl form at live shows and available through all digital retailers through AWAL. A full list of new and previously announced dates are below with additional dates to be announced soon.
